What do I do if I get sick? Since we share our clinic space with other health care providers, we cannot operate on a walk-in basis. Please call us as early as possible if you are sick and we will determine if you need to be seen that day. On evenings, weekends and holidays, call toll free 1(877)421-0683, follow the prompts and leave your message with your healthcare provider. |
How do I get my medications refilled? Never go without medications! Always be sure that you have enough medication to last from one month to the next. If you are out of refills, ask your health care provider to give you a new prescription when you are at the clinic. If you are running low between appointments and your prescriptions are filled locally, call the clinic and leave a message at 309-671-8509 about which prescriptions you need refilled. Be sure to leave your name and phone number in case we have questions. If you are running low between appointments and your prescriptions are filled through a mail-order pharmacy, please contact the pharmacy and tell them which medications you need refilled. Please allow them at least ten days notice in order to process your refills and send them to you. Call us if you will need medications before your shipment arrives. |

| Why should I see so
many different people? All of our professionals work together to provide us with a comprehensive overview of you as a whole person. We want to see how your disease fits into the total context of your life so that we can identify the best means to help you. You are unique and we need to take time to evaluate the best possible treatment for you. So, please be patient with us. |

| Will my care be
confidential? All clients who receive HIHAC services will have the rights of confidentiality. To preserve client confidentiality and anonymity, team members will not initiate recognition of clients in settings outside the clinic. For example, if you see a member of the HIHAC team at the mall, we will not speak to you or acknowledge that we know you unless you speak to us first. This gives you the option of not recognizing clinic team members that you may happen to run into in public, unless you choose to do so. Another way to preserve confidentiality is by not bringing anyone with you to your clinic appointment unless they already know your diagnosis. We may provide HIV educational information in the clinic waiting area, therefore we strongly advise you to ask anyone who does not know your diagnosis to wait in the main lobby at the building entrance. |
